Maple Pecan Coke

Monday dirty soda drop, and this one tastes like a pecan pie got a cola habit.

Heads up: this post has a few Amazon links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. It keeps the ice cubes coming.

Quick backstory: when I quit drinking, my evening glass needed a new job. Turns out a loaded-up Coke over pebble ice scratches the same “treat yourself” itch. Way less regret.

This Maple Pecan Coke is real maple syrup, a little pecan syrup, Coke, and a splash of cream swirling through like fall weather. Two minutes, one cup, zero cocktail shaker required.

Why you’ll love it

  • 2-minute build: syrups, ice, Coke, cream. Done.
  • Tastes like pecan pie: maple and toasty pecan play really nicely with cola’s vanilla and spice notes.
  • Easy swaps: coconut cream for dairy-free, Caffeine-Free Coke for late nights, no pecans for a nut-free version.

How to order it

Soda shop (Swig, Sodalicious and friends): “Can I get a Coke with maple syrup, pecan syrup if you have it, and coconut cream?” Not every shop stocks maple or pecan, so ask what nutty or brown-sugar syrups they do have.

Cocktail bar: “Coke on pebble or crushed ice with a little maple syrup and a splash of cream, no alcohol, please.” Lots of bars keep maple syrup around, and if they don’t, just ask what sweeteners they have.

Coffee shop: if they sell cans of Coke, grab one plus a cup of ice and ask for a pump of maple or butter pecan syrup and a splash of half-and-half on the side.

Pro move: say “light ice” so the cream has room to float.

Tips for the best pour

  • Stir the maple into the pecan syrup first. Real maple is thick and loves to sit at the bottom of the cup like a sulky teenager.
  • Use pure maple syrup, not pancake syrup. Pancake syrup is mostly corn syrup with maple-ish flavoring.
  • Pour the Coke slowly down the side of the cup so it doesn’t foam over.
  • Cream goes on last for that swirly, cloudy look. Coconut cream gives the same cloud and keeps it dairy-free.
  • No pecan syrup? Use 1 1/2 tbsp maple plus a tiny pinch of salt. Still tastes nutty and cozy.

Allergy and caffeine notes

  • Tree nuts: pecans are a tree nut. The candied pecan garnish definitely contains them, and some pecan-flavored syrups are made with real nuts while others aren’t, so check the label.
  • Nut-free version: skip the pecan garnish and the pecan syrup and use the maple-plus-salt trick from the tips above.
  • Dairy: half-and-half is milk. Swap in coconut cream to keep it dairy-free.
  • About coconut: the FDA dropped coconut from its list of tree nuts that count as major allergens in 2025, but some people with nut allergies still react to it. If you’re allergic to tree nuts or coconut, check with your doctor and read labels, or use an oat-based creamer instead.
  • Caffeine: regular Coke has caffeine. For a bedtime-friendly cup, use Caffeine-Free Coca-Cola.

More dirty soda to sip

Tools to use: praline syrup for the pecan vibes and real maple syrup, both on Amazon. Pancake breakfast, but make it soda. Any brand works.

Allergy note: praline syrup is nut flavored, so check the label if nuts are a problem.

Notes

How to order it at a bar or soda shop: At a soda shop (Swig, Sodalicious, etc.), say: "Coke with maple syrup, pecan syrup if you have it, and coconut cream." Not every shop carries maple or pecan, so ask what nutty or brown-sugar syrups they have. At a cocktail bar, ask for "Coke on ice with a little maple syrup and a splash of cream, no alcohol." Say "light ice" so the cream has room to float.
Allergens: contains tree nuts (pecans) if you use the pecan garnish or a pecan syrup made with real nuts, and milk if you use half-and-half. For nut-free, skip the pecans and pecan syrup and use extra maple plus a pinch of salt. For dairy-free, use coconut cream. The FDA no longer lists coconut as a major-allergen tree nut (2025 update), but some people with nut allergies react to it, so check with your doctor if you're allergic to tree nuts or coconut.
Caffeine: regular Coke contains caffeine; use Caffeine-Free Coca-Cola for an evening version.
Make it lighter: use Coke Zero or Diet Coke and a sugar-free pecan or maple-flavored syrup.
