Sober October Finish Line: 10 Cozy Mocktails for the Final Week
Sober October 2026 wraps up on Saturday, October 31. That means we’re in the final week, friends. The home stretch. The part of the race where you either sprint or trip over your own shoelaces.
My plan? Bribe myself with cozy drinks. Warm mugs, spiced cider, a little whipped cream situation. If the end of the month is getting wobbly, a good drink in your hand helps a LOT.
So here are 10 cozy mocktails for the final week. Most are full recipes on the site, one is a quick riff you can make tonight, and the featured Apple Cider Chai Latte recipe is at the bottom.
10 cozy Sober October mocktails for the final week
1. Apple Cider Chai Latte (featured recipe)
Hot apple cider with a chai tea bag steeped right in it, then crowned with frothy milk and a dusting of cinnamon. It’s a hug in a mug. It’s also the drink I want in my hands for every single night of this final week. Get the recipe below.
2. Spiced Apple Cider Mocktail
The cozy classic. Apple cider, fresh orange juice, maple and warm spices, topped with sparkling cider so it’s bright and bubbly instead of heavy. Get the Spiced Apple Cider Mocktail recipe.
3. Pumpkin Patch Pepper
Dr Pepper, pumpkin spice syrup, vanilla and a float of half-and-half over pebble ice. Two minutes, zero effort, maximum fall. Get the Pumpkin Patch Pepper recipe.
4. Real Pumpkin Spice Latte
Real pumpkin, warm spice and maple whisked into steamy, frothy milk, with espresso or without. It’s the star of my 10 Pumpkin Mocktails roundup, and it’s basically a scented candle you can drink.
5. Caramel Apple Cider Float
Fizzy cider poured over vanilla ice cream in a caramel-striped glass. Dessert and a drink at the same time, which feels like cheating but isn’t. Get the Caramel Apple Cider Float recipe.
6. Pumpkin Pie Milkshake Mocktail
Pumpkin pie in a glass, graham cracker rim and all. Perfect for the “I made it through another week” celebration. Get the Pumpkin Pie Milkshake recipe.
7. Caramel Apple Dr Pepper
Caramel and apple syrup, Dr Pepper, a splash of cream and lots of ice. A caramel apple, but make it fizzy. Get the Caramel Apple Dr Pepper recipe.
8. Maple Pecan Coke
Coke, maple, pecan syrup and a creamy cloud on top. Tastes like pancakes at a diner in the best way. Get the Maple Pecan Coke recipe.
9. Dark Chocolate Orange Mocktini
For the Friday night when you want something fancy in a stemmed glass. Rich cocoa, fresh orange and a chocolate rim. Get the Dark Chocolate Orange Mocktini recipe.
10. Cranberry Lime Spritz
The bright one in the lineup. Fill a wine glass with ice, add about 3 oz cranberry juice and the juice of half a lime, then top with sparkling water. Drop in a cinnamon stick if you want it to smell like the holidays. Tart, pretty and not too sweet, for when all the cozy creamy stuff needs a break.
Your final-week game plan
- Make one pot, drink all week. Warm a big pot of apple cider with a few cinnamon sticks on Sunday, cool it, and keep it in the fridge. Reheat a mug at a time for chai lattes, or pour it cold over ice.
- Stock one syrup. A bottle of pumpkin spice or caramel syrup covers drinks 3, 4, 5 and 7. Hello, low-effort week.
- Plan your Friday drink. Weekends are where the finish line gets wobbly, so pick your fancy drink (hi, Mocktini) ahead of time and buy the stuff.
- Going out? Halloween weekend is also the last weekend of Sober October. Here’s what to order at a Halloween party when you’re not drinking, and what to order at a brewery if your friends drag you to one.
- Keeping it going in November? Love that. Bookmark this page. These drinks don’t stop being cozy on November 1.
Allergy and caffeine notes
- Dairy: the Chai Latte, Pumpkin Spice Latte, Pumpkin Patch Pepper, Caramel Apple Cider Float, Pumpkin Pie Milkshake, Caramel Apple Dr Pepper, Maple Pecan Coke and Mocktini all use milk, cream or ice cream. Most have a dairy-free swap in the recipe (oat milk or coconut cream work well).
- Nuts: the Maple Pecan Coke uses pecan syrup and optional pecans (tree nuts). If you swap in almond milk anywhere, that’s a tree nut too.
- Gluten: the graham cracker rim on the Pumpkin Pie Milkshake contains wheat. Use gluten-free grahams or skip the rim. Some oat milks aren’t certified gluten-free, so check the label.
- Caffeine: Dr Pepper, Coke, black tea chai and espresso all have caffeine. For night owls, use caffeine-free sodas, rooibos chai and skip the espresso.
- Always check labels on syrups, sodas and juices if allergies are in the mix.

Apple Cider Chai Latte
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup apple cider non-alcoholic; unfiltered cider or 100% apple juice
- 1 chai tea bag black tea chai, or rooibos chai for caffeine-free
- 1 to 2 tsp pure maple syrup or brown sugar, to taste
- 1/3 cup milk whole, 2%, oat or coconut
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon for dusting
- 1 cinnamon stick optional, for garnish
- 1 star anise pod optional, garnish only; don't eat it
Instructions
- Pour the apple cider into a small saucepan and heat over medium until it's steaming and tiny bubbles form at the edge, about 3 to 4 minutes. Don't let it boil hard.
- Take the pan off the heat, add the chai tea bag and steep for 4 to 5 minutes. Longer steeping means stronger spice (and more caffeine with black tea chai).
- Remove the tea bag, giving it a gentle squeeze, and stir in the maple syrup. Taste and add a little more if you like it sweeter.
- Heat the milk in the microwave or a small pan until hot but not boiling, then froth it with a handheld frother, a whisk, or by shaking it in a tightly sealed jar with a towel over the lid (careful, it's hot).
- Pour the spiced cider into a mug, then spoon the milk foam on top and pour in the rest of the milk slowly.
- Dust with cinnamon, tuck in a cinnamon stick and float a star anise pod on the foam. Sip carefully, it's hot.
